Touring Coronado Farms

Recently there was an open house event at a near by diary operation.  Justin and I went and saw the different farm equipment pieces they had on display and also for a tour of the farm.  They had an employee riding on each of the school buses, driving people through the farm, who gave the tour information as we rode along.

There is a total of 55,000 cows at this particular farm!
About 6,500 of those cows are milked on a regular bases.

Cotton seed for mixing in the feeds rations.

In the feed bay there are different stalls with piles of corn silage, canola, wheatlage, and other feeds.

This milking parlor has a rotary that can hold up to 90 cows at a time!!  It slowly makes its way around while the cows are being milked.  There is a cow stepping off/on to be milked every 6 seconds!

Amazing! I thought they did things big in Texas. Looks like Arizona does things in a big way too. Looks like an interesting tour and job opportunities too. Grandmommy
