A Proud Parent Post :)

Our "little" baby boy is already eight weeks old!  He is quite the chunk, weighing 13 pounds!  He loves to be talked to and will give you the sweetest smiles and coos that almost make you think he's trying to say something back!

He has discovered how to stick his tongue out when he smiles...which makes us laugh, which makes him smile all the more!

Just hangin' out with mommy...

Smiles for Grandma and Uncle Joshua :)

Taking a nap in the swather...I love his eyelashes!!

He's a very ticklish little fellow! :)

For those of you who have mentioned it, here is the finished nursery wall, no black spot covering his "B"!

Soaring Temperatures, Raging Fires

The temperatures this week have been scorching HOT!  Every day the thermometer climbs higher and higher, 109 being the highest temperature we've reached.  With all this heat comes lightening and we've had two major fires start nearby recently.

The Dragoon Fire started on June 7th on the east side of the mountains.  Another fire started on the same day on the west of the mountains and they merged on the 10th creating this massive smoke column!  That fire has since been contained and put out, but only after it burned over 15,000 acres!

We could see the flames roaring on the mountain at night so Justin took a picture through the binoculars.

The Frye fire started to the north of us on the 7th as well.  It is still raging and has burned more than 21,000 acres making it the largest wildfire currently in Arizona. (This picture was from the 15th, now there is so much smoke from the fire you can't even see that mountain range anymore.)

This is a picture of the sunset taken on Thursday night, you can see a little of the haze created by all the smoke.

Bottling Milk at Golden Rule Dairy

Since Justin's parents are now co-owners of a certified raw milk dairy with Micah and Jenny, they have begun bottling milk in plastic jugs.  One afternoon Justin and I went over to watch the process and help a little!

Micah putting the labels on the jugs...

Jared filling each jug...  The machine is programmed to fill each jug with the same amount.

Jared slides the jug over to Jesse who made sure the lid is sealed and the jug was clean.

After the milk is put in the crates it's taken to the cool box until delivery day!

Check out the post Justin's family did here

Happy To Be Home!

Benaiah was so happy to see his daddy when we got home from Pennsylvania!

They had a little conversation together... :)

"Oh, dad, you're so funny!"

Benaiah's First Trip to Pennsylvania

Joshua and Benjamin were the only siblings who hadn't met Benaiah yet and I wanted them to be able to meet him while he was still little.  So early one morning I drove to the airport with my little buddy and flew back to Pennsylvania for 6 days.  Benaiah did wonderful on the plane rides, only waking up to eat and then off to dreamland again!

We had a very fun filled schedule that began on Wednesday with meeting Grandpoppy and Grandmommy at Longwood Gardens.

Meeting Grandpoppy! :)

We met Pop-pop and Mom-mom at a restaurant in Maryland so they could meet Benaiah.

Brother James and Sister Hazel were with Pop-pop so they got to meet Benaiah as well!  Benaiah and Brother James actually share a birthday and as it turns out, a nickname too!  Brother James's nickname is "Buster" and Justin calls Benaiah "Buster" sometimes too!!

Benjamin came downstairs one morning and went straight to give Benaiah a hug!

David recently bought a few ducklings at Green Dragon.  There was one surviving duckling out of that batch (the larger one with the black spots) and she has now become the "mother" over the new batch of seven more ducklings.

They are so fun to watch waddle around the yard!

Brother Roger and Sister Glenda hosted a lovely picnic at their house on Saturday.  It was so fun to visit with the cousins again!

There is a small pond there that everyone likes to fish in...Serenah wasn't too sure what to think of this little sunny before Daddy released it! :)

Joanna and Rosie with Benaiah

Grandpa and Grammy also got to meet Benaiah at the picnic but unfortunately I didn't get a picture of Grandpa holding him :(
