:: April ::

It's hard to believe that April is already over!  Here are a few random things that happened during the month...

 The Strite's have chicks!!

They're so soft and cute!!

Joshua is really talented with wood working so I asked him to build me a little bookshelf out of pallets.

It turned out really cool!!!

I realized that I forgot to include pictures of the master bedroom a few posts ago.

We got the adorable MR. & MRS. pillow for a wedding present :) It matches our room perfectly!

One day when I was at the Strite's, Joanna, Jesse, Jared, and I decided we were going to make donuts!

We mixed the dough and were rolling it out when someone started a flour fight!
(It might've been me haha)

Our first batch of doughnuts was a complete fail.  The recipe we used didn't have any yeast in it so the doughnuts didn't rise at all.  Sis. Joyce found another recipe (this one called for yeast and mashed potatoes) so we tried it.  These doughnuts tasted light and fluffy and the glaze was just divine!

Yummmmmyyyyyyy!!!

Last week the girls and I went to Sierra Vista and on our way, the road was blocked by some cows and their calves.  The vehicle we were in didn't have a working horn so we slowly inched forward until they moved out of our way!

Riding in the Swather

Last week I went and rode with Justin in the swather while he cut alfalfa.
The swather is like a huge zero turn mower

I rode with him for about 4 hours while he mowed half the pivot.

This is underneath the head...

My sweetheart :)

Chicken hawk on the pivot...

A Few Wedding Pictures

For those of you who have been checking my family's blog and the Strite family blog you've seen quite a few pictures from our wedding.  After the reception, Justin and I said our good byes and drove to a nearby Amish house to take pictures by their awesome barn. Abigail came with us and took the pictures for us.

:: Our Home ::

Life in Arizona is definitely different than Pennsylvania, but I am certainly enjoying the sunshine and excitement of having our own home!  Here are a few pictures for you.  Hopefully they'll help you see how everything looks in our new house.

Everything is so green right now!

This cute little welcome sign was on our back porch when we moved in.

This is our kitchen...

Panoramic view of the living room.

We received a ping-pong table for one of our wedding presents and we love it!

We went to Tucson on Saturday and bought a washer and dryer set.

This is our guest bathroom.

We use one of the guest bedrooms as a workout room.
The bedroom we will use for guests doesn't have a bed yet so we plan on getting one in the near future.

I took this picture on my way over to Justin's parent's house the other day.

Our first Easter together! :)

Welcome to Arizona!

Justin and I had quite the welcome surprise when we arrived home from the airport!  Jaylon, Micah, Joylin, Joanna, Joshua, Jared, and Jesse all had been at our house the day before and "decorated" a few rooms!  It might not be such a good idea for them to know where the spare key is hidden!!

They post-it noted our kitchen...

You can't see it but on the cabinets to the left they wrote "LOVE" out in different colored post-it notes!
There's also a heart and "LOL" written out on the cabinets by the sink.

They blew up 400 balloons in our bedroom! haha

and filled our bathroom with cups of water!

They also put red kool-aid capsules in our shower head and sink faucets so they would dissolve and our water would be red...(we figured that out before we were dyed though!!) It took us about an hour and a half to clean everything up, and we pretty much laughed the whole time.  It was a great way to be welcomed into our new home!  They also left a goodie basket on the kitchen counter with some snacks and stuff in it and they filled our fridge with breakfast goodies :)  Thanks guys!
